Surviving Vultures: How Stay Golden Cosmetics Fought Back Against Copycats


In the ever-evolving beauty industry, originality is everything. For Stay Golden Cosmetics, standing out with bold, innovative products and packaging has always been a priority. However, after eight years in business, we were confronted with a harsh reality: some companies don’t play by the rules. They steal. They imitate. And they copy without remorse.
Stay Golden Cosmetics has been victimized by vultures—companies that have shamelessly stolen our content, packaging, and even videos to push their own agendas. Two companies in particular, SheGlittary.com and Sunny Glow Cosmetics, took their imitation game to a whole new level, crossing legal and ethical lines.

 SheGlittary.com had the audacity to steal our content, copying not just our packaging and product descriptions but even using a video of Danielle Edmond, Stay Golden’s founder, on their website. Even after a Cease and Desist was issued, they persisted. The reality is, while copyright lawsuits are a legitimate way to fight back, they are incredibly expensive and time-consuming. Many small businesses facing these battles are forced to shut down before they can afford justice.

 Sunny Glow Cosmetics went so far as to replicate our packaging, creating products that could easily be mistaken for Stay Golden’s. It wasn’t just imitation—it was deception, designed to trick our customers into buying from them.

Sadly, this is a story that plays out too often in the beauty industry, with little resolution for the companies being copied. But we decided to take a stand.

Stop Stealing Our Vibez


In 2024, we launched a bold campaign called “Stop Stealing Our Vibez”, aimed at bringing awareness to the situation and rallying our community. Our tribe stood with us in full force, flooding the offenders' pages with reports and support for Stay Golden. The solidarity was overwhelming, and the outcome was poetic justice. One company even had to turn off their comments section due to the overwhelming response from our loyal customers. It was a beautiful moment—a testament to the power of community and the strength of those who ride for Stay Golden.

 

Reclaiming Our Power: The 2024 Rebrand

When we first designed our packaging in 2017, we never anticipated it would be copied so brazenly. But instead of letting the imitation steal our shine, we used it as fuel for evolution. In 2024, Stay Golden Cosmetics rebranded—introducing doper, cooler, and more uniquely creative packaging that aligns with our bold vision and individuality. 


Surviving the vultures wasn’t easy, but it made us stronger. Our brand is not just about beauty products; it’s about standing up for what’s right, protecting our originality, and continuing to innovate in ways that can’t be copied. We’re proud to have a community that stands with us, and together, we’ll keep pushing boundaries, setting trends, and staying golden.
